SiriusPoint welcomed two work experience colleagues this week, as part of the London Market Group’s Futures Academy, a market-wide initiative which seeks to make insurance a destination career.
Prem and Humza are part of a cohort of 115 students who have joined firms in the EC3 insurance community to learn firsthand how the industry operates, and to find out more about specialty insurance as a great career option.
Throughout the week, Prem and Humza spent time with the Casualty, Energy and Underwriting Oversight teams in our London office. Thank you to the London Market Group for giving us the opportunity to inspire the next generation of talent in our industry, and thank you to everyone at SiriusPoint who got involved and supported the program.
Commenting on his work experience, Humza said: “My experience has been a personally developing and an enjoyable one, all the staff have been helpful, understanding, and welcoming. I have learnt a lot over the past few days and strengthened my overall knowledge of the speciality insurance industry. I have also met and spoken to many people of different specialties who all have turned their complex field into simple and understandable concepts.”
Prem added: “For the duration of one week that I have been here at SiriusPoint it has been an amazing experience. I have gained a lot of knowledge in a short period of time. I met a lot of wonderful people as everyone in the office is very friendly and helped with any issues I was having in an instant or answered any questions I had about insurance or their job roles. Overall, based on this experience alone I now have a much more strengthened opinion about pursuing a career in insurance in the future.”
