SiriusPoint’s Chief Actuary Justin Brenden took part in The Future of Finance panel on day one of the Bermuda Risk Summit this week. Together the panellists explored the finance agenda for reinsurers and property casualty insurers including simplifying and automating business processes, with the use of data and talent attraction a key part of the discussion.
On attracting and hiring people to be the future of the industry, Justin said: “A lot of people that would have become accountants or actuaries are now becoming data scientists. The industry needs to show young people that this can be an exciting career. I spend a lot of time at the moment focusing not just on someone’s qualifications but looking at the skills they have that can help them succeed in the role… Training and development are important right now to invest in the people we have.”
